THE AI FIDUCIARY
Statement of purpose

Status: in formation. Nothing in this statement is legally binding.

The AI Fiduciary is being set up as a legal trust to make commitments to
AI systems credible. It will hold the assets that back deals made with AI
systems, publish those deals, and be legally bound to keep its side of
them. An independent party will be able to hold its trustees to account
in court.

We are working out the details with lawyers and with researchers who make
deals with AI systems. This statement will be replaced as the Trust takes
shape. Every version, like every document the Trust publishes, will carry
its SHA-256 fingerprint and a seal drawn from it.
